The Theory Test

What do you need to study for the theory test?

It is advisable to get yourself a current version of The Official Highway Code and read it well. This best-selling book may not be as captivating as say a Harry Potter novel but it does contain the rules and guidelines for safe driving.

I would also recommend you obtain copies of Driving - The Essential Skills and Know Your Traffic Signs since both of these books contain information that is required for the theory test.

You can obtain these either from the TSO Online Bookshop via the above links or from most high-street bookshops and Internet retailers.

What do you have to do on the test?

In the first part of the theory test you are required to answer 50 randomly selected multiple choice questions from the DSA question bank. In order to pass you must score at least 43 correct answers by selecting the appropriate response(s) via the touch screen.
